  《苔絲》英文讀后感800字 1

Among the books I read, there is one that I like best. The heroine in this book is very beautiful, and the hero is very gentle and considerate. However, Man 2 is a very tactful person. This book is Tess of the DUrbervilles, written by Hardy of England.

This book mainly tells that Tesss father heard that he was a descendant of an ancient noble, so he asked his daughter to go to a rich old woman who claimed to be a descendant of Debor. When Tess got there, she was seduced by Alec, the old womans son. Tess fell in love with Angel while working in the dairy. When he confessed his past misfortunes to his husband, Angel did not forgive him, but left her to Brazil for development. Tesss family is in a dilemma. Her husband has no news. In despair, she has to live with Alec. Angel returned home to find his wife. But Tess felt that she had no face to return to her husbands arms, so she had to kill Alec. After five happy days with her husband, Tess was arrested

When Tess was still a little girl who didnt know anything, Alec destroyed her lifes happiness, but Alec said he did so because he loved Tess. Is this also the way of love? His method can only find the blame, hatred, shame and abuse of the world, and will never be recognized and blessed by the world. What about Tess? She has only hatred for Alec, and absolutely has no trace of love, care, let alone pity. Angel is a gentle and considerate man. He will not cheat Tesss love with rhetoric, nor will he get Tess in that dirty way. He melted Tesss heart bit by bit with his perseverance and love, and moved Tess with his actions day by day to finally win her heart. This is the comparison of two peoples qualities, behaviors and results. Tess was blinded by the hatred for Alec, and finally killed Alec under the combination of hatred for Alec and love for Angel. He was arrested after spending five days of happiness, happiness and romance with his husband Angel. In prison, she thought about her life so sad that she could not face it, so she had to commit suicide

Tess died with regret and blessing to her husband Angel. He made a choice between love and hate, but also paid the price and lost happiness.

  《苔絲》英文讀后感800字 2

Tess of the DUrbervilles is known as the treasure of English literature and world literature. It was published at the end of the 19th century. The author is a great British critical realist writer. "A melancholy image stands at the junction of the Victorian era and the new era", Thomas Hardy.

Tess is a story about how the society forced a pure, simple, honest, hardworking, intelligent and beautiful rural girl into despair and finally killed her. She has created a tragedy with different artistic images, and the story of the elder has become a pain in the hearts of many very old people because of the success of this tragedy.

Tess has pure and natural beauty. She is the daughter of nature. Her purity is like the blue sky. Although it is occasionally covered by dark clouds, when the dark clouds disappear, the most pure and transparent sky in the world is still blue.

Tess is also strong and optimistic, but her life is irreversible. Even if Tess is given several more choices, I believe she will eventually choose the old way, unless Angela does not abandon her.

Tesss experience reflects the reality of many societies. Perhaps every reader can read the profound implication. However, in the contemporary life, I think we should all learn Tesss attitude of keeping her heart pure and facing all difficulties positively. Even though she was desperate, she finally died in love.

When she was ruthlessly defiled by Yalei, she resolutely chose to give up the quality of life provided by Yalei and return to her poor home. From this, it can be seen that she sticks to her inner purity.

When she knew that she had a child from Yalei, she still insisted on giving birth to that little life. This is a kind of greatness derived from maternity. She only loves her children, which is a kind of deep love without regrets. At that time, as an unmarried mother, she was undoubtedly great.

Love comes from the deepest heart. This is a kind woman. This book, this person, this matter, we need to personally understand. The above is just my humble opinion.

Tess is a tragic figure. Who should be responsible for this tragedy? Im afraid many readers will think that the culprit is the villain master Alec. In my opinion, although Alec is the cause of the tragedy, Tesss nominal husband Claire is also the cause of the tragedy. Alec only stripped Tess of her virginity in a naked way, which opened the prelude to the tragedy physically; Clare abandoned Tess on the wedding night, which led to the development of the tragedy in spirit, and finally brought the tragedy to an end. If Clare did not abandon Tess and wear that false moral veil, there would be no development and outcome of this tragedy.

The plot of the story is not complicated: Tess, a simple and beautiful old rural woman, came to the noble dUrbervilles house to work as a maid. She was cheated into pregnancy by the villains young master Alec, and was ridiculed and accused by her neighbors. From then on, she fell into the abyss of pain. Later, Tess met Claire, who was born into a wealthy pastor family, and they really loved each other. On the wedding night, Tess told Claire her past tragic experience, but what she didnt expect was Claires ruthless departure. Tess suffered all kinds of unimaginable hardships, but she did not get Clares forgiveness and any news. Forced by the poor life, Tess in despair falls into Alecs hands again. After that, Claire, who was disillusioned, found Tess again, and Tess was unable to reach back. In order to live with her beloved Claire, Tess killed Alec, who had destroyed her life. A few days later Tess was arrested and sentenced to hanging for murder. Claire followed Tesss will and started a new life with her sister Lisa.

In the novel, Hardy portrayed Tess, a kind and beautiful girl, with vivid strokes and deep feelings: just like "a fresh and pure daughter of nature", "showing a noble dignity in both temperament and appearance, just like a queen", "her body is full of poetry, every move is poetry, and the poetry that the poet only writes on paper is vividly shown". Although Tess was a woman who lost her virginity and even became a murderer, the author boldly abandoned the secular concept and praised her as "a pure woman", "far more fresh than other virgins".

  《苔絲》英文讀后感800字 4

Tess in Tess of the DUrbervilles is brave. In the age of patriarchy, she dares to talk about self-respect, but in the face of reality, she cannot escape the moral shackles of fate, which is a tragedy of a pure woman. The following is Tesss reading experience of the dUrbervilles for your reference.

Tess of the DUrbervilles is a beautiful novel written by the famous British writer Hardy. After reading this work, we will be deeply impressed.

Faced with her fathers immersion in the past brilliant family, the expectant eyes of her brothers and sisters, and the scene that the only old horse in the family died in her own hands, Tess violated her principle of not wanting to marry the rich, started a life she did not want to live, and embarked on a path that could destroy her life..

Pure Tess, like a helpless deer, is attacked by the evil Yalei. What she gets is peoples cynicism, and bears others contempt and insult. However, she yearned for love all the time, so Tess always dared not admit her past under the love offensive of Angel, which meant that she was getting closer to her tragedy bit by bit.

At that time, Britain was in a period of change and turbulence. Tess was born in a rural family. As a labourer living at the bottom of the society, although she is beautiful, kind and smart, she looks so small under the pressure of life.

The feelings between "open-minded" Claire and Tess are fragile. He uses the deep-rooted traditional concept of chastity to see whether a woman is chaste, does not pay attention to Tesss innocence, and personally pushes her into a hopeless situation. The moral prejudice of the society at that time made Tess a victim of bourgeois ethics once again.

From the beginning, Tesss beauty was not publicized. She had clear and naive eyes, but always showed a firm and indifferent expression. Tess is brave. In the age of male power, she dares to talk about self-esteem. At the last moment of execution, her calmness scares off all people. But in the face of reality, she cannot escape the moral shackles of fate, which is a tragedy of a pure woman.

She was seduced by a so-called gentleman—Alec, and from then on her life totally changed from this loss of innocence. People looked down on her and respected her no more. Actually she did nothing wrong because before she was seduced she knew nothing of men. She was just a girl when she first met that terrible man.

She was forced by the gossips and the church to blame herself for this accident, so she thought she deserved nothing good. In order to get rid of the past she decided to go to a distant dairy farm but was still saying to herself that she was wrong. Maybe God didn’t agree with that, because the Lord gave her someone she loved with her whole heart and life—Angel Chare. Angel popped the question to her but she refused him without saying why. She said she loved him deeply and perhaps no one in the world could love him more than she did but she could not marry him for some unspoken reason. Angel wasn’t satisfied with this vague answer and did his best to win Tess. Somehow she agreed and they soon fixed the wedding day. Soon after their wedding Angel confessed the crime he committed to a woman long time ago and asked for Tess’s forgiveness. Tess was not at all angry and forgave Angel at once; in fact she was rather happy and excited for she also had things to confess.

She sat and told everything to Angel, hoping he would forgive her as he was forgiven but she was wrong. She was not forgiven, not as she thought she was. The woman pays.

Without Angel’s love, nothing meant anything to her. The result wasn’t important now. Tess was arrested for her murder of that so-called gentleman. Why? She still loved Angel and when he finally went back to her and asked for HER forgiveness, after he regretted what he had done unfair to Tess, she was desperate. That was too late—Alec had always told Tess that Angel would never come back so he won Tess’s trust. Unluckily Angel did come back and found Tess.! Everything was too late!(.)

Her whole character was honest and faithful. Angel figured out at la

Tess of the DUrbervilles is a masterpiece of Hardys world-famous "Wessex Series". The novel describes the unfortunate fate of a pure girl. Tess, the heroine, is a beautiful peasant girl, who lost her virginity and became pregnant because of being seduced by her master. Since then, this shameful fact deprived her of the right to accept true love, resulting in her husbands abandonment on the wedding night. Later, in desperation, she returned to the young masters arms. Unexpectedly, her nameless husband came back with his illness for thousands of miles and searched hard. For her true love, Tess resolutely killed the young master who lived together. After a short get-together with her husband, she walked onto the gallows.

Her father Derbys ignorance and greed for money pushed Tess into the abyss of society; But Yaleis evil and shameless will turn all the beautiful dreams of Tess girl into ashes, prompting her to encounter the third thing that changed her life - love with Angel Clay. It was Angel Clay, a cowardly man in the name of an angel, who finally caused Tesss tragedy. Some people will say that Angel Clay is the one who should really be criticized, but no doubt he lives in that era and needs time to release himself. It cannot be ignored that Angel Clay loves Tess, at least that love is real, not like Yalei. He only wants to treat Tess as his doll. So I think Tesss tragedy should be caused by the times at that time. Maybe such things will happen in modern society, but for people like Tess, there are more opportunities for survival. Close the book, I want to castigate the society at that time, accuse Yalei of his shameless behavior, despise Angels cowardice, and sympathize with Tesss tragic experience.

The first writer realized the shortcomings of each character from this tragic story, and the third writer also expressed his dissatisfaction with the society at that time. Although the second author also expressed regret for the tragedy and hatred for the characters in it, he wrote the truth of the friendship between Tess and her friends.

  《苔絲》英文讀后感800字 7

In Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Hardy molded a pure, kindhearted image and rather an image brave enough to rebel, to shoulder the responsibility of her action. Her unfortuneness was the tragedy of the society, her character and fate. It vividly revealed the persecution towards people after Industrial revolution made by the conception of capitalism and traditional moral. Following are some of my opinions about the causes to her death.

Her character and parentage was part of the cause

In the author’s ideal world, Tess was the embodiment of beauty and the incarnation of love .She represents all the merits of the villagers in her hometown: beautiful, pure, kind, simple, charitable and tolerant. To love ,she had no egocentric thoughts and didn’t plan to meet her vain wish by marriage .She standed by he dignity and pursue freedom .Hardy made the poor, helpless ,humble country girl as the heroin.Despite she committed adultery and murder, Hardy still claim she was a “pure girl”. This fully showed the author’s sympathy towards Tess. Hardy elaborately modeled the image of Tess and indignantly describes the depression confronted with Tess through her short life.

Tess is a young woman who tends to find herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. She is a victim, but she is also, at times, irresponsible. She falls asleep while taking the beehives to market, which ends up killing the family horse, Prince She decides to visit the d’Urbervilles in Trantridge, giving rise to all her future woes, partly out of the guilt and responsibility she feels toward her family. She wants to make good, but in trying to help her family she loses sight of her own safety and her own wants and wishes. She becomes Alec’s victim in the forest. She probably should have known not to put herself in such a situation, but she has few other options. Here, it seems as though she is destined to rely on others, even when they are unreliable.

Tess is also a strong woman throughout the novel. She stands up for herself and refuses to crumble under pressure. She chastises herself for her weakness after her sexual escapade with Alec. If we agree with her claim that this indiscretion is a moment of weakness, we probably also feel that such weakness is not unlike that of most human beings. She is hard on herself for letting herself become a victim. At the burial of her child, Sorrow , she weeps but collects herself and moves on as a stronger woman. Overall, her determined attempts to escape her past primarily reflect her strength.

Her parentage to some extent leaded to her final tragedy. Born in a poor family, with an ignorant vain, drunkard father who did not care too much about the

  《苔絲》英文讀后感800字 9

The book, Tess of the d" Urbervilles, is a tragic of a pure and poor girl. When I put down this book, I was in tears. I just wanted to ask, Angel, why did you treat her like this?

I could imagine such a terrible night when Tess lost her way in a dark and silent wood. The What she faced was a b man and she hadn" t known how dangerous the man could be. She was so weak that she was unable to resist him. No one could come up in time to help her. Eventually, beauty was damaged by ugliness. Why did the wrong man take the wrong woman? Angel, it was the time you saved her but where were you at that time? The Maybe as the old saying said It was to be. The Then it was the start of Tess’s tragic.

The social rule made her feel guilty and want to die. Unfortunately, her father just thought that she brought shame upon his noble name. No one could comfort her broken heart except herself. She kept all the people out her house and stayed alone and wanted to do heavy things to forget her past. The I was very happy to see that she knew such a thing shouldn’t prevent her from living an useful life. It was previous for her to have the courage to continue her life.

When Tess fell in love with Angel, the she tried to hide her love because she thought she hadn" t had the right to get true love. But Angel, the man who loved her deeply, conquered her. However, when Tess told him her dismal past with great care, he couldn’t understand her and at last, he left her. So poor was Tess that when she wanted to be understood and forgave , she was pushed to abysm by the person she loved deeply .It was like adding more salt to the hurts of a broken heart. She was pious to everything about Angel. she could remember every sentence he said, and she learned to sing the songs he was fond of. Even when she was hurt by him, she didn’t hate him. When Angel was walking in sleep, she could choose to fall into the river to die with him but she didn’t do that because she knew she had no right to take his life. You can image how kind a girl she was.

Her love was great, unselfish and pure .The real purity came from her mind, not her appearance .Even if she was a ordinary and plain girl ,I thought Angel would love her as well. When Angel was reminded that Tess would have laid down her life for you,he suddenly realized his prejudice and narrowness .But it was too late. Tess was already in deep desperation and became Alec’s wife. When she realized she was cheated by Alec again, she was full of anger. She came to the end of her endurance so she killed Alec d’Urberville, the person who damaged her happiness for life.

They spent the last five day together .It was the most previous period during their life because Tess was going to be sentenced to death several days later. If Angel were brave enough to accept Tess’s past, they would live a happy life now. But he didn’t cherish Tess’s true love until he lost it forever. It was already useless for him to regret. Late, too late!

If you love a person deeply, then to accept his or her past, or you ’ll lose your true love for life. That’s the experience I learnt from the book.

  《苔絲》英文讀后感800字 10

This is a book of grievous mood. A beautiful young girl’s life was destroyed gradually and really---not by her energy, but by the people who said love to her. What kind of this love is? What make the love destroy its lover? Tess could be a happy girl though her family was very poor. But noble, status, and money were bly in her father’s mind, just because of the discovery that a parson said to him. Without their horse’s carrying load, life became rather difficult. Tess blamed herself completely, and she wondered what she could help her parents. Then Tess obeyed her mother’s idea, to work at the d’Urberville’s home, and met her cousin, Alec d’Urbervilles. This then was the beginning. Tess had to meet the wrong man, and one who was so bly attracted to her. Yet to the right man, she was only a half-forgotten impression from an evening’s dancing party in a country field. This mistake was to have tragic results. Alec used his clever brain to help Tess’s parents, and this made Tess feel grateful to him. Because of her slackening vigilance, Alec’s intention came true ---Tess would be maiden no more.

As the people of her village said, It was to be. And from now on, Tess’s life was to be completely different. Tess left Alec’s home, returned her village. But all had changed, Tess wouldn’t be happy, people in village wouldn’t see her as before. After her baby’s death, she had to leave her home, went to a far place. Perhaps at that time we should thank Alec, thank baby’s death, or Tess wouldn’t leave her home and met Angel Clare, her right man in the dairy. Tess was a so lovely girl that Angel was soon crazy for her. At last, they conquered many difficulties and got married. But Tess’s experience was still her mortal wound, Angel couldn’t accept the truth and left her. The story came to its turning point again. When Angel realized his mistake and went back to look for Tess, all was too late, the poor girl again dropped into Alec’s trap. With the intertwine of love and hatred, Tess had to end herself with a tragic results. God played with Tess so much. When her right man appeared, God yet didn’t give her happiness. Tess’s parents loved her, but it was just an instinctive love; Alec said love to her, but it was a evil love; Angel said love to her as well, but it was a immature and selfish love. He wanted Tess to forgive him, but he couldn’t forgive Tess. Tess didn’t make any mistakes, but at last, she born all punishments and sufferings. At first, God had let the two persons miss each other. A tragedy was doomed. But perhaps no love, no hatred, no dignity, death was the best way for Tess to extricate herself. We have nothing to do but watching world changing, destroying Tess, then continuing changing. The tragedy recurs every day in fact. I can’t help asking, have we missed our happiness?

  《苔絲》英文讀后感800字 11

This book is a merciless flogging of ugly men. Durbeyfield, Tesss father, was an incompetent person who put himself into a fantasy with alcohol. He dreamed that God would drop the rain of happiness on his head. He would never think about or understand the meaning of human existence; Derby, a shameless and despicable rascal, can be said that he directed Tesss tragedy. Everything he did to Tess was to satisfy his own dirty physical desire. Tess killed him, but he killed Tess; An Ji, a dignified and narrow-minded villain, is arrogant, but never dare to face his hypocritical soul. In Tesss tragedy, he is a true accomplice. In this book, he is probably the most humble hero; Poor Mr. Clay, his helpless Taoism never saved any soul, even his three sons

I do not know the British society at that time, so I have no right to comment on how the social system affected the fate of the lower class people, but I still saw the social customs at that time from the novel. Beautiful, kind-hearted, hard-working and strong Tess did not succumb to the harsh fate. She did not lose heart because of peoples disdain for her eyes, nor did she shrink back because of the farmers grievances. She stood up bravely under the guidance of secular people, but fell helplessly in front of secular Clay. What a tragedy.

When I wrote here, I thought of Yu Huas Living. In the preface of this book, the author concludes as follows: "It is this" To Live ", which describes peoples tolerance to suffering and their attitude to the world. The writing process makes me understand that people live for themselves, not for anything other than life. I feel that I have written noble works." This expression of the author can also be shown from the words of Fu Gui, the hero of the work: "Its better to be a normal person, earn this and that, earn it and lose my life. Like me, the more I get along, the less promising I am. But I have a long life. People I know die one by one, and I am still alive."

Here, living is far from earth shaking significance, but only lies in its attachment to life and life. In my opinion, the meaning of Living has gone beyond the category of "why people live". Like Tess of the DUrbervilles, it is really eulogizing and praising a kind of life.

As for the society, each of us is "ignorant of Lushan Mountain", and I have no intention to explore its true face. I am satisfied to be worthy of being a person: why is it difficult?
